Sri Lanka determined to destroy a Mosque after protest of monks


A mosque and a Hindu temple has been decided to destroy by Sri Lanka after a group of Buddhist Monks and their lay supporters protested their presence inside a Buddhist holy area.

Lakshman Perera, who a lawmaker of ruling party, he said on Monday that places of worship and other buildings will be relocated to alternate sites outside the designated holy zone within six month and this decision had been agreed by the Muslim Politicians.

The Mosque had been destroyed by many Buddhist monks and lay supporters in the central Sri Lanka town of Damulla on Friday, because they said it was an unlawful construction. So, the building had been damaged by them. Buddhism is main religion of The Sri Lanka and monks are powerful in political and social affairs.
